‘The path from novice to expert is surprisingly short’. These words came from June Edhouse, my educational supervisor during my very first job as a Senior House Officer in Emergency Medicine, back in 2001. June was explaining how publishing a review article on broad complex tachycardia in the BMJ had shot her from novice to expert with immediate effect. From that inspiring conversation, I developed my interest in research.
