The Basel Statements, created during the 2008 Global Conference on the Future of Hospital Pharmacy in Basel, Switzerland, represent a pivotal consensus on the future of hospital pharmacy practice.1 Organised by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), the conference brought together 348 hospital pharmacists from 98 countries to develop 75 statements covering the entire medication use process in hospitals, from procurement to monitoring. These statements, revised in 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand, continue to reflect evolving practices and global aspirations for pharmacy services in hospitals.1–4
