Culturally dexterous and concordant care has emerged as a topic of utmost importance in delivering quality care, including trauma patients in the USA. Numerous studies have demonstrated that approaches considering a patient’s preferred language and culture lead to improved trust and outcomes.1–3 Failure to recognize social determinants of surgical disease suggests worsening outcomes.
