Tranexamic acid is an important emergency treatment for patients with traumatic bleeding. Two 5 mL glass ampoules are typically required for intravenous administration of a 1 g dose. The product literature states that it should not be exposed to freezing temperatures. However, in extreme environments, for example, during a cold weather military deployment, this may entail a significant logistical burden or preclude its use far forward.1
