Intestinal ultrasound (IUS) is emerging as one of the most transformative developments in the management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Long established across Europe and increasingly embedded in clinical pathways worldwide, IUS provides a non-invasive, radiation-free, point-of-care imaging modality that can accelerate clinical decision-making, reduce demand for endoscopy and MRI, and improve patient experience. Yet, despite robust evidence and clear international recommendations, IUS remains underused within UK clinical practice.
