We read with great interest the article Trauma Recidivism in England and Wales: an Epidemiological Study by McNickle et al and think that it represents a critical and overview contribution to the literature on global trauma recidivism.1 It offers a new perspective on recidivism specifically in England and Wales, demonstrating that trauma recidivism in the UK is largely a geriatric phenomenon driven overwhelmingly by low-energy falls. This is in contrast to the existing literature which is predominantly centered in the USA and focuses on young, male patients with violent injuries and social and mental health drivers.2 3
