From cough variant asthma to lobectomy: a rare cause of chronic cough revealed

A 65-year-old male, who does not smoke, with a history of right lower lobectomy for carcinoid tumour 15 years prior, was referred for persistent, unexplained cough over 12 months. This was occasionally productive of clear sputum though the patient never experienced haemoptysis.
