The number of cancer patients in the world is projected to climb by 77% to a total of 35 million individuals by 2050, due to both rising incidence as the global population increases and ages, as well as exposure to carcinogens.1 Given this substantial burden, any intervention that can improve cancer survival is critically important. An international randomised clinical trial (RCT) recently demonstrated that a structured exercise regimen improved disease-free and overall survival in patients with colorectal cancer.2
