This, my last editorial for the Emergency Medicine Journal, is difficult to write. I have truly enjoyed every minute of being the Editor in Chief of the EMJ, and so it is not without some sadness that I step down from the position. But to keep up with—indeed, get ahead of—the times, all journals need a refresh periodically, and that begins with a new Editor in Chief. I am delighted that the person taking the reins is Professor Richard Body, our current Deputy Editor and a brilliant investigator in his own right.
