Periprosthetic joint infections are a common indication for revision total joint arthroplasty. 1 Compared with primary joint arthroplasty, revisions are more technically demanding and painful.1 Peripheral nerve blocks are established techniques that improve pain and outcomes.2 3 However, peripheral nerve block use in revision joint arthroplasty, stratified by periprosthetic joint infection status, is not studied. Understanding peripheral nerve block utilization in infection and non-infection revisions is important because perioperative analgesic strategy must balance effective pain control, early mobilization, and infection-related risk.
