A man in his mid-50s presented to the emergency department with right-sided sudden onset chest pain. He had a medical history including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), hypertension and diabetes mellitus type 2. A chest X-ray demonstrated a hazy opacity in the right middle zone and no other significant findings. Blood tests and general observations were all within normal range. He was diagnosed with a lower respiratory tract infection and discharged with a course of antibiotics.
